As I read the word {broken} my mind whispers that His body was broken for me.
Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice. His desire as God come in the flesh was that none should perish. His desire as a man full to overflowing with Deity was that He, Jesus, fulfill the mission for which Father God sent Him.

I donโt understand how all this worked or works. I simply believe the scriptures.
I believe this because Godโs Holy Spirit has been present in my life for a long time. Holy Spirit testifies to me through the tiniest and the greatest of circumstances. Because what I truly know that I know is that this world we live in is broken.
Iโm broken. You are too. Weโre all broken.
Godโs perfect design for His image bearers tarnished by sin. Rebellion. Me seeking my own way. Independence. Selfishness.
It started before we were born. Weโre developed by brokenness. Our parents wanted us to be the exception to the rule. Our hearts long for perfection and goodness. We crave what is right.
But we have no power within our flesh to bring ourselves into goodness and perfection. Redemption requires sacrifice. Perfect, obedient sacrifice, which only God Himself is able to provide.
Broken.
My rebellious heart is revealed through fellowship with people, in prayer and through the living and active power of Godโs Word. And like King Davidโs words in Psalm 51, I cry out in a moment of clarity.
โForgive me, Lord.โ
โCleanse me, Lord.โ
As I catch a glimpse of my broken humanity still rising up to declare independence; itโs then that I am humbled by the sacrifice of Jesus.
โThe sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.โ
โญโญPsalmsโฌ โญ51โฌ:โญ17โฌ โญNLTโฌโฌ
Itโs now that I open my hands and lay them out before Him. I ask Him to take the broken pieces of resistance and replace them with a piece of broken bread.
This is my sacrifice. Giving away my broken spirit and offering a repentant heart.
This is my sustenance. And I am grateful. Remembering who I am and the Majesty of Who He is with me and for me.
Eyes on Jesus and Shine,

This is beautiful It reminds me of the verse about His power being made perfect in weakness. Where I am broken,He is strong.
We are infinitely blessed to have a God that cares so deeply for us.

Yes! Amen.
Beautifully written. He allowed himself to be broken in order to mend all our brokenness.
His body was the sacrifice for us, the bread of life yet with no broken bones,
