There is no better teacher than Jesus. And He asks the best questions. Hereโs one regarding the Kingdom of God and a mustard seed.
โHe said therefore, โWhat is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.โโ

Great question, Jesus. โWhat is the Kingdom of God like?โ
Lord, of course only You know the answer to Your question. You came from, and went back to, and yet You know we wonder. You know weโre curious about the Kingdom of God. So, how kind are You to address the elephant in the room?
โAnd to what shall I compare it?โ
A mustard seed. Something I have heard taught, preached and even seen in a tiny bottle as a keepsake. And yet, Iโm unfamiliar with the Mustard Seed tree or bush. I feel sure You used an example of which Your audience was quite familiar. Iโve seen pictures.

However, having lived a few years, Iโve experienced the truth of tiny seeds creating large bushes, and even trees. Our citrus trees out back are a haven for so many birds. The doves, sparrows, finches, and mockingbirds come to rest and nest, feed and sing. What a delight they are to behold!
Thank You, Jesus, for asking great questions, and thank You for making Your answers practical and understandable, and then again perplexing and something to ponder with You.
I love how in the Gospels You always waited for Your disciples to lean in. You waited, like a great teacher, for them to be curious, and ask for more.

Iโm curious, Jesus, and Iโm leaning in. Please teach me Your ways. Grow me up, and never leave me as I am.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for making a home for us. You promised You would. And You promised You would come again and take us home. So far, You are 100% faithful. A Promise Keeper, and Good Shepherd of Your flock.
I trust that though You began with two people expelled from Your Garden, and even though itโs been a bumpy history, Your Kingdom will be full and abundant and beyond my wildest imagination.

How You desire for us to live with You and commune with You, sometimes I wonder, for we can be stinky, stubborn and ungrateful sheep. But thank You for loving us. Thank You for loving me first. I love You too.
See You in a bit,
Lisa
