We now live on the west coast of North America, which has so many benefits. New Yearโs Eve culminates at 9 PM EST. Hallelujah! We can celebrate with friends and be asleep by 10 PM Pacific. Itโs fabulous!
The difficulty can sometimes be found in spoilers such as the final score on a football game we recorded early in the day to watch in the evening. Itโs important to stay away from social media and ESPN on these particular days. Sometimes a well meaning text comes through and oops – spoiler alert!
Hereโs something Iโve been pondering. The Bible is full of spoilers. And Iโm about to add one for you here.

God wins!
And those who bear His name are of His family. And we win too.
And hereโs the very best news: God wants you to be in His family. He wants the fullness of reconciliation with all His creation.
And thatโs why God sent His One and Only Son – the Word from before creation, through whom all has been created, came to earth in the flesh. He came for us.
He ministered to people. Served people. Taught those who leaned in. Healed multitudes and set more free from oppression and darkness. He came to bring people like us into His family.

He is Jesus.
Heโs still ministering to us, praying and healing. Heโs still calling all of us to Himself.
And Spoiler Alert: Heโs coming back.
Heโs coming to take His family home.
And when He does He will come as conquering King and will subject all things under His authority. Evil will be demolished.
I know because I read the end of His book. You can read His book too. He left it for us so we could know the good news. He wants us to have the SPOILER.

Just like accidentally finding out the final score before getting to watch the game, we know Godโs final outcome. But we donโt know the details that take place in between. My dear man and I, weโre still gonna watch that game because we want to know the rest of the story.
And thatโs what following Jesus through this life is all about. I donโt know what will happen next, but I know the ending is good.
โAnd I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, โLook! Godโs dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. โHe will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more deathโ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.โโ

Friend, are you adopted into Godโs family?
Have you read His book? Do you know the end of the story is good?
Do you want in?
Just tell Jesus right where you dwell. He knows your heart and He will show you what to do next.
If you want a clue, get a Bible and start reading.
Live Love Brightly,
Lisa

God wins. AMEN! Sometimes we need to be reminded of what we already know as truth. You’ve done that for us, Lisa. Bless you.
Agreed–this is one spoiler alert we’re so thankful to have received. Praise God for his reassurance that’s completely trustworthy because of all the promises we’ve seen him faithfully keep in the past (Hebrews 10:23)!
Absolutely! Thank you, Lesley, for visiting and taking time to respond. His words of assurance that He will never leave us and indeed is returning for us are life to our weary hearts. I appreciate you.
Eyes on Jesusโฆ youโre shining. Lisa
Sandra,
Thank you for taking time to read and engage with me in the conversation.
Eyes on Jesusโฆ youโre shining as you walk in His ways. Lisa
I like your take on this week’s prompt, and the great and reassuring spoiler to be found in God’s Word.
This is one situation where I like a spoiler! It gives so much hope to know that God wins in the end and to have reassurance about how the story ends!
