Jesus in dusty sandaled feet, as You call me out of my comfort in the dark morning, I want to follow You. Will you walk me to the coffee pot? I want to drink my cup with You this morning. Help me up, please, and draw me into conversation with You.
โfor he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.โ

I know You know that some mornings Iโm just so tired. Sometimes itโs a physical weariness and in some seasons itโs the concerns of my heart that weigh me down.
I know You know Your good plans for me, and my dear man, and our family and friends. You know what You have called us to – the tasks at hand. And You, dear Jesus, You know what sometimes holds me back from following You without trepidation. You know my heart.
You know I am made of dust.
With my first cup in hand, steamy and aromatic enough to open my eyes. I choose now to open my heart to You, Lord. I choose to worship you. I want to hear what You have for me too.
My Father in Heaven, Holy is Your name.
You are High and Lifted up, Lord God. Please listen as I recount Your character in ABCs.
You are Almighty, Bountiful and Beautiful, Caring, Divine, Deity…

You are Eternal, Forever, God, and Holy. Holy. Holy is who You are.
Immanuel, Justice, Justifier, and King.
King of Kings. Lord of Lords. Messiah.
God, You are Near and Never-ending, Omnipresent, Present – here and now, Prince of Peace, and Quiet.

Jesus, You are Reigning and Ruling. You are Real and Righteous. You are Security, Stable, Teacher, and Triumphant.
You are a Unifier under Your name, and Valiant, Virtuous, and You, God, have Won.
Your grace is Xtravagant. Your name is YHWH, and You are zealous for Your creation.
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give me this day, please, my daily bread. And forgive me for my sins against others even as You have forgiven me of my sins against You.
Please deliver me from evil. Teach me to stay right by Your side. Because you will protect me and bring me safely home in Your timing.
And full circle, in every season, You are with me. You are with us.
Sometimes we struggle to wake up, to get up and to offer our sacrifice of praise to the Lord. For me, I recognize this apathy or lazy unwillingness only reveals my ingratitude toward my gracious and generous Father God.

Lord, Jesus, please forgive me for being sluggish. Forgive me for being stingy with my thankfulness. It only takes a decision of obedience to turn my day from dry to fluid. From parched to sloshing. From dry desert wasteland in my soul to streams of living water flowing from within.
Thank You for loving me first. Thank You for calling my name.
I love You too,
Lisa
