Dear children,
You are LAVISHly loved!
It’s important that we tell you who you are as dearly loved humans created in the image of God. You are created by love to glorify your Maker.
Here’s an acrostic to help you remember how God sees you just as He made you.
Loved
Accepted
Victorious
Innocent
Secure
Holy
Dear children, you may not be ready to read chapter books on your own, but you are ready and able to know and feel God’s great love for you. And so, Shiney and Oomey want to be part of the community who will teach you how to read, memorize and understand God’s love notes to you.
Your parents have been teaching you about God’s love as they care for you, sing with you, read and pray with you. Your parents take you to church and to school. They are teaching you the Lord’s Prayer and Psalm 23.
Your parents love you so much that they sometimes tell you no and set boundaries for your safety. They are true to their word and keep their promises. Your parents are doing their very best as they trust God to lead them in parenting. Sometimes they mess up, but I know they own their booboos and apologize to you.
Your parents love you by their actions and through their words. They love you with their decisions. They love you best by keeping their eyes on Jesus and seeking His wisdom. These are all the ways your parents are helping you to understand God’s unending, merciful and steadfast love toward you.
In the book of Ephesians in the Bible, chapter one, God tells us about all the ways He has taken care of us and given us permission to be in His family.
Maybe we can read it together from the easy reading translation. These are the true words of God scribed by Paul, the Apostle.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in heaven. In Christ, he chose us before the world was made.
He chose us in love to be his holy people—people who could stand before him without any fault. And before the world was made, God decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ.
This was what God wanted, and it pleased him to do it. And this brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace.
God gave that grace to us freely. He gave us that grace in Christ, the one he loves.
In Christ we are made free by his blood sacrifice.
We have forgiveness of sins because of God’s rich grace.
God gave us that grace fully and freely. With full wisdom and understanding he let us know his secret plan. This was what God wanted, and he planned to do it through Christ.
God’s goal was to finish his plan when the right time came. He planned that all things in heaven and on earth be joined together with Christ as the head.
In Christ we were chosen to be God’s people. God had already planned for us to be his people, because that is what he wanted.
And he is the one who makes everything agree with what he decides and wants.”
Ephesians 1:3-11 ERV
Dear children,
Remember, you are loved, accepted, victorious, innocent, secure and holy in Christ Jesus. You are lavishly loved.

Dear precious Jesus, thank you for choosing us and loving us. Thank you for making us just the way you wanted to design each one of us. All of us are unique creations of your fatherly hands. Thank you that you accept us, and lavish on us your gifts. You are generous. Thank you for being victorious, innocent, and holy so that we can be too. Thank you Jesus for your big sacrifice – the biggest – so that we can live secure in you.
Thank you, Jesus, for loving us first. We love you too.
