He’s with you in the dark

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Oh how our Jesus understands this statement. While it feels lonely to be persecuted, He is with you. And surely the darkness threatens to hide your existence. Perhaps, you are sure no one sees what is happening to you.

He’s already been where you are living. Jesus knows this place of torment.

Oh, but dear one, He sees you. He knows you. He hears your muffled cries for help. And He has an angelic host stationed and protecting and providing in ways we can’t quite comprehend.

Yet, when you come out into freedom and you can tell your story, you will tell us of multiple ways, times and nights when you encountered and deeply experienced His withness. We won’t be able to comprehend unless we’ve ever encountered His presence, but still we will be amazed by God and His goodness. Our faith will be emboldened in ways most of us have never imagined.

His sustenance was God’s word as bread and the Living Water of the indwelling Spirit of God. Remember His Word and speak it out loud.

He will glorify Himself through your life, and His rescue mission. He wants your story told because your story and His withness builds His kingdom here on earth.

Dear one, hold on. He’s got you. Jesus sees you. He hears you. He has never left you. Jesus won’t leave you. He will stay.

It’s a hard prayer, but you know the surrender better than I do… pray with me, please.

Lord, God, Your perfect will for me be done. Your perfect will here on earth as You would have it in heaven is what I ask You to do. Just let me keep my eyes on You, and see You today. Let me experience, even in persecution, Your tangible withness.

We cry to You, Lord God, Holy, Holy, HOLY. We bow in Your presence and declare, You are worthy, Worthy, WORTHY… and we spill out our tears of praise, honor and exaltation to You. And we submit ourselves to bring You glory.

Amen.

When it’s all just too hard and you don’t know what to pray… just say His name. Jesus, Jesus, JESUS. His withness is evident. And He won’t let go.
