“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”
James 5:13-15 ESV
Praying prayers for everyone waiting for an answer, a resolution, a healing, a result, a reason, a person, a next step.
That’s me too. Is it you?
Are you wondering if anyone knows your heart? Are you feeling alone in your grief? Do you wonder if anyone gets the desperation of your heart? Do you feel unseen?
The answer to all your wonderings, and mine too, is Jesus. That’s not a Sunday School answer. He is not trite or trivial. Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. He is the Most High God. And He is our Advocate. He intercedes for us before the Father who is our Creator.

I guarantee that you are seen by our Loving God and Father. He hears my prayers and yours too. He catches every tear.
I promise. He promises. While you wait and weep, sing through tears, and keep holding onto hope.
God’s promises, and His character is found written in His word. I encourage you, and I encourage myself to open the Bible today. Read the truth of who He is and who is He says you are – made in His image. Read of His love and desire for you.
A beautiful prayerful song by Aaron Keyes
And then join me in following His directions for us found in James 5. Are you suffering? Pray to God with tears and the groaning of real raw pain. Don’t try to clean it up. He knows. He hears. And He is present with you as you call upon His name, Yahweh.
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
Romans 12:15 NIV
Are you cheerful today? Sing your praises to God. Give thanks to Him for His abundant kindness. Exalt His name and testify of the goodness of His character.
Are you sick? Call upon the Elders. Ask for prayer in person and ask for the anointing of oil. Humble yourself to ask for help from the body of Christ, and receive the benefits of joining our prayers together in the name and will of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is power in the covering of Christ’s blood gathered in one place for prayer in accordance with His will for the sick.

Are you in need of confession? Has sin made you ill? I’ve been there too. Confession is good for the soul. Confessing our sin will bring healing to our bones. God hears our desire to be cleansed from sin. Plead the blood of Jesus over yourself and let Him redeem you from the bondage of the evil one. Confess, and your sins will be forgiven.
“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:8-9 NIV
Are you in need?
Pray. And ask for help.
