All the best things

The quiet descends as all the best things come to a close. My heart is so full it could burst; just like the clouds, which have broken loose overhead with a continuous downpour. Many tears build up and hang on the edge. Not just sad ones, but joy-filled, gratitude drops multiplying and collecting. We've laughed … Continue reading All the best things

Day 2: Running from the famine, what will I {tell} them about my God?

As you gathered water from the well, pounded out the grain, and prepared meals together, what did you tell the young women of your country, your people, and your God?ย

FMF {inspire} Self, what inspires you to write?

It's the real life stories, as we race together, spurring one another on to the finish line, which inspires me to write. ย It's exciting to think that through our stories someone who is losing steam might receive a shot of adrenaline to press on and win the prize of their inheritance.

Saturday Share: True Gold Magazine with Chloe

My most vivid memory of sharing ministry time with Chloe is that she carried a pocket-sized artist pad of paper and an artist's pencil. ย She sat quietly on a stool in the dressing room crowded with more flesh than clothing and sketched a picture of God's love. ย There was a specific woman she felt Holy Spirit was guiding her to bless with her picture.

…What I have I give you

Because we belong to Jesus (we are His and He is ours) we are able to meet overwhelming circumstances face to face with confidence and bold JOY. ย Jesus is our example. ย He encountered crowds of physically, emotionally and mentally broken and hurting people who pressed in on Him everywhere He traveled. ย We carry God's compassion, just as Jesus did; so we don't have to duck from any person in distress.

Saturday Share: Brad Milford – the miracle of a captive set free

Trying to control everything has been wearing me out. If you ever struggle with this you will know what I mean. Itโ€™s tiring. It sucks the life out of you. But Jesus came to give life, and every single day is a choice to accept the life he gives, every single day is a choice to follow. You donโ€™t have to worry about it, you can always wait for it. You can always stop what your doing, you can always give it up, give it to god, and wait โ€œpatientlyโ€ for him. It restores your soul and builds a kind of faith and trust in the Lord that no one can ever take away from you, no matter what happens.

Drop what you hold…

And so with the limited vision of standing at the beginning of something new, I am determined to let go and follow Jesus wherever He leads. ย I feel the security of remembering His past faithfulness. ย And yet, I am fully aware of the ambivalence of knowing not the path nor the destination of His leading.
