Day 27: Who is it that {overcome}s the world?

Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he (and she) who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:5 niv {overcome} it's a promise for the one who perseveres through, over and around - for the one who puts their eyes on Jesus and never stops following the sound of His … Continue reading Day 27: Who is it that {overcome}s the world?

Day 26: Ready for a {change} of heart?

For the word of Godย is aliveย and active.ย  Sharper than any double-edged sword,ย it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.ย ย Nothing in all creation is hidden from Godโ€™s sight.ย  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give … Continue reading Day 26: Ready for a {change} of heart?

Day 23: Is my life’s {work} defined by what I do or whom I serve?

The current work drought for my man feels much like the farmers' in the time of the Judges who had land, seed, skill, and knowledge to grow crops in their fields, and yet they could not control the weather.ย  For all their effort, working hard to bring a harvest, the stuff of life beyond their control overwhelmed and a famine season was the result.

Day 22: Is not your yoke easy and your burden {light}?

FMF: {depend}

So far, my conclusion is {depend}ency has to do with perfection.ย  It feels to me that someone {depend}ent on me expects me to be perfectly available and all-sufficient, all knowing and all present for their every need, all the time.ย  And I reject that - wholeheartedly I say "NO!" to that kind of expectation placed on me.ย  I fear that type of suffocating {depend}ency.ย  I run from it.

FMF: {support}

With his degree, he became a construction manager with Habitat for Humanity for a number of years before he retired. ย He certainly helped to support families with affordable housing, but through Habitat, there was more support offered than just providing a roof over people's heads.

FMF: {Place} Finding my happy place

Yes, I know where my happy place is, and somehow my happy place doesn't seem to meet other people's expectations of success.
