Do you want deep and hidden things revealed?

“Praise be to the name of God forever and ever… He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Daniel 2:20-22, NIV)

A year or so ago I decided to make Daniel’s prayer of Thanksgiving into my own prayer of anticipation.  I had so many questions.  My heart was torn and in need of wisdom regarding the spiritual well-being of many loved ones.

One life, in particular, a son, threatened to bring me to despair.  I remember when he memorized Bible verses for VBS, his profession of faith in front of the church and his baptism.  And then what happened?Reveal the deep and hidden things

I wanted God to reveal the deep and hidden things.  I asked Him to uncover the truth and give me the wisdom to pray against the schemes of the enemy.  Most importantly, I praised God in advance for His answers and His power to save lives.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard to pray this for people you love.  My imagination wanted to run to all the most horrible things that could be uncovered.  That’s a tactic of the enemy.  He hopes we’ll be afraid to know the truth, and so we’ll just leave it covered up.  Demons already know the truth on which we should stand firm: “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32, NIV)

Recently, in the process of cleaning out closets, my husband dug through a suitcase left behind by this same son after graduating from college.  He sensed Holy Spirit prompting him to keep digging.  What he pulled out was a precious treasure.  It was his Bible, and tucked inside was written our son’s declaration of faith to the Lord God.Are we willing suitcase.png

Our son is on his own faith journey.  His story isn’t complete.  Mine either.  And we have hope because God revealed a deep and hidden truth.  Are you seeking truth and wisdom from God?  Don’t be afraid to ask for the hidden things to be revealed.  Trust Him.  He is faithful.  The truth God reveals will set you free, especially from fear.  Be free in God’s truth and light!

I am a curious follower of Jesus. I have been since my early twenties when I met Him personally and received miraculous healing in my body and mind. After many years of marriage and raising sons into the teen years, I received a challenge to explore the duplicity of my spoken faith followed up by my fearful living choices. It was my two sons, who loved me enough to confront me with the truth. They called out the hypocrisy of fear, and I am forever thankful. Chips off my proverbial block! I determined then to overcome fear with faith that was more than words. Years ago, with my eyes open to my sin of unbelief I made a decision to leave the desert wandering behind and set out to pursue the abundant life Jesus promised His disciples. God has been faithful to teach me, grow me up, and help me to let go of all the things that used to mean security to me. My passion is to walk so closely to Jesus that others want to know Him too. I love to introduce women to Him as we walk, talk, and work together hand in hand through everyday life. Nothing thrills me more than to watch someone fall in love with Jesus through His word; learning to trust His heart and receive His great love! I have been married to my dear man for over 36 rollercoaster years. We're simply thrilled that our latter days are more joyful and purposeful than our first. Together we have helped to grow two young men, who are now married with their own families. God is continuing to help them write their own faith stories.     What a precious gift the Lord brought to you, in directing you to that Bible! Isn’t the Lord so good, to keep sending His encouraging words and thoughts right where He wants us to pray? I know that He has done the same thing for me over the years as I prayed for my sons too. HIS Truth really does bring a freedom to our hearts and to our prayers! Blessings to you!

  6. Thanks, Julie! I do think I have chosen to let go. He is a man. And I continue to pray for him the scripture the Lord gave me to pray for him. It’s not pretty, but God is faithful and His steadfast love endures forever! 💝💝 #knittedhearts
