Dear children,
Sometimes I feel myself wanting to wrestle with my words. The person in front of me is using different words, and sometimes I think my words are right. Sometimes I just want to be right.

In those moments, I am learning to pull myself away.

I can excuse myself from the person, a flesh and blood person, and go take a walk with Jesus instead. I can tell Him all my words. I can tell Him why I think Iโ€™m right.

I can be emotional with Jesus, and I can be dramatic. I can whisper my frustration or I can scream my pain.

I call it tattling to Jesus.

He loves it when I bring my wrestling thoughts and words and emotions to Him. He loves it because we can spend time together sorting through my thoughts and experiences. He loves it because when I wrestle with Him, I donโ€™t wrestle as often with people. That helps me maintain my relationships with people.

He helps me understand why I want to wrestle with a person over our different ideas. Jesus understands my emotions. He doesnโ€™t mind that I am real and raw and unpolished and tattling.

Jesus likes helping me come to a place of understanding and He brings peace.

Jesus is peace. He is Immanuel; God with us.

So, dear children, when you are tempted to wrestle against flesh and blood people, take a time out. Wrestle your words with Jesus first. Tattle to Jesus.

He asks the best questions. He will help you come to rest in Him. His withness will be tangible as you experience His presence. And He will help you develop amazing relationships with people who donโ€™t think like you.

Try it, and let me know how tattling to Jesus is helping you.

Thank You, Jesus, for helping me sort my thoughts. Thank You for asking good questions and helping me to turn my eyes to You. Thank You for wrestling with me. Thank You for being my peace, and my friend.

Thank You, Jesus, for loving me first.

I love you too. Amen.

Love you, dear children,
Shiney

โ€œAnd now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.โ€
