Tiny

Pondering the one-word tiny today and it takes me less than a second for a connecting thought. Her name is Rebecca, and she’s two weeks old today.

We received a picture yesterday from our daughter-in-love that caused me to oooh and aaah and whisper with fascination, “She’s so tiny!”

To describe the picture – our son was holding his precious baby daughter nestled securely on his chest with his one hand practically covering her entire being.

We are anxiously awaiting our soon to come visit with our granddaughter. At this point, we have FaceTime, pictures and short video clips which ignite our imaginations with anticipation for snuggling Rebecca close to our hearts. We can hardly wait to find her in person, hold her and smell her baby breath!

She’s (currently) the tiniest member of our family. And she’s precious. Valuable. Of inestimable worth.

““Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭15‬:‭8‬-‭10‬

And tiny baby girl secured safely on her daddy’s chest reminds me that Jesus cares for the tiniest things and people.

Oh sweet girl, you are so loved. Valued. Cared for. You are secure and protected. You have great worth to the one who created you.

You are heard and seen.

You are known.

Eyes on Jesus and Shine,

~Lisa (aka Shiney)

  1. Congratulations! We are also eagerly awaiting the next visit with the smallest member of our family, our granddaughter who is six months old now. A precious reminder of God’s love for us and our dependence on him.
