Many reflections

Today I am participating in the Five Minute Friday with Kate Motaung and her crew of brilliant writers, as well as incorporating the one-word from #write28days in my daily writing adventure.

Setting the timer for 5 short minutes. And go…

Reflections

Now into my 60th year of life on planet earth, I have many memories on which to reflect. So fortunate am I to have been given 60 years of life.

Many of the beautiful reflections are painted from ashes.

Lisa Brittain

I reflect on the good. The bad. And the ugly. But as I mature in faith and in my true identity as an image bearer of Christ, I choose to reflect most on the many beautiful aspects of my life.

Many of the beautiful reflections are painted from ashes. What seemed so bad or too difficult then now springs forth as grace and mercy. Many lessons learned. Many hardships endured and overcome. Many small victories and some really huge!

Eyes on Jesus and Shine,

  1. Loved your thoughts here, Lisa, and your photos! Beautiful!

I can relate to your beautiful reflections being painted on ashes. It seems there is something in all our lives that must go in order to make room for coming beauty. When we mature and look back, we can see it has been a good thing.

  2. Beautiful photos, and wise words to ponder.
I enjoyed reading your bio. It sounds like the Lord has blessed you with a very fulfilling career He can use you to minister His love to your community through.
Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

    1. Thank you, Sandra! I appreciate you stopping by to read and comment. God has been extraordinarily patient and gentle with me. I’m so grateful for His love and mercy.
On my way over to FMF to find your post #22. Thank you again!

  3. God, I love you, but please hear
(I do not want to be a nag)
what I think I must make real clear:
must I be cancer’s punching bag?
The pain and nausea, I dig,
and for these I wouldn’t phone ya,
but it’s figured to go big
    with addition of pneumonia.
    God replied, “Hey, dude, just chill;
take in each breath and let it go.
I know it’s hard but it’s the bill
for knowing what you need to know,
and to still write, if you dare,
that I am real, and really care.’

  4. “Many of the beautiful reflections are painted from ashes.” I will take this into my week. Would you mind if I use that for my Facebook ‘your story’ some time with my own photo for a backdrop, credit to you though? I’m heading out of a long and difficult season and have been reflecting on the many difficulties and wounds, trying to move on, also reflecting on the good, bad and ugly, and your thoughts help me remember to be grateful for all of it. Visiting from FMF #16 this week.
