Contented Sleep.

Do you ever try to remember what you were thinking right before you fell asleep? Or what you dreamt during the night?

I’ve been reading and thinking with Jesus this morning. Drinking my coffee. Looking at scripture. Listening to a song and a friend’s voice.

Suddenly it came back to me. That… Up there in the picture. That’s how I fell asleep last night.

I was so disturbed in my spirit thinking about all the people I love and care about who are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

What can I do?

Ask Jesus to help.

Jesus. You know him. And her. This married couple. And that family. And his addiction. And all about her fears and anxiety.

Jesus. You know the key and You possess the key to unlock their prison door.

Jesus. First open the eyes of their hearts to see the prison door.

Open the eyes of their hearts to see You present. With a key.

Open the ears of their spirit to hear Your invitation to come out.

Holy Spirit, woo. Entice. Direct. Comfort. Give these precious people courage to take a step out of darkness and into Your wonderful Light.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 26:3 NLT

Peace came over me. Because I had done all that I could do in that moment. I apparently fell asleep having placed every dear one into God’s protection and capabilities.

Thank You Lord for carrying the burdens and giving me rest. Sweet sleep. No worries. The sleep of a weaned child. Content.

Thank You also that You are trustworthy to do what only You can do for each one I have entrusted to Your care.

Eyes on Jesus… You’re shining
